MGM Grand Macau is a fascinating blend of cultures and architectures. Most of the structure is strongly contemporary in design. But the 1,100-sq.-meter Grand Praca courtyard features old Europe facades topped by a curved glass ceiling 25 meters overhead. The effect is that of taking a stroll through a corner of a European capital.

Eating is easy to do in this hotel, for the venues are many, varied, and delicious. Aux Beaux Arts is a throwback French brasserie experience. The open kitchen of Rossio caters to international tastes. The Imperial Court and Grand Imperial Court feature Cantonese cuisine. There is buffet, a patisserie and, in the Russian Room, a menu of caviar and vodka.

Lion’s Bar is the place for live performances of contemporary pop, rock and R&B music. M Bar is where guests go for weekend jazz. The art of Dave Chihuly is on display in a retail gallery in the hotel, or one can enjoy for free the jade, marble and gold foil designs of the hotel’s VIP lobby. It is quite impossible for MGM visitors not to feel enveloped in beauty.
