Macau Open Badminton Championships

Officially sanctioned by Badminton World Federation (BWF), sponsored by KUMPOO and organized by the Badminton Federation of Macau, the KUMPOO Macau Open Badminton Championships 2010 will commence on 27 July and run through until the 1 August 2010 at CotaiArena™.

KUMPOO Macau Open Badminton Championships 2010 is a BWF World Grand Prix Gold event, with total prize money of approximately MOP$1,000,000 (US$120,000).

For the 2009 event, entrants represented 25 countries and regions, with around 400 players and officials coming to participate in the five individual events, being the Mens & Womens Singles, Mens & Womens Doubles and Mixed doubles. Many of the players are currently ranked in the World Top 20 and well-known by local Macau residents, such as Lee Chong Wei, Koo Kien Keat, Tan Boon Heong from Malaysia; Taufik Hidayat from Indonesia; Chen Jin, Wang Lin, Du Jing, Yu Yang from China and Zhou Mi from Hong Kong China.
