Macau Entertainment Guide

Q: I love music! Are there musical performances in Macau?

A: Of course! In addition to the regular concerts in the major hotels and performance theaters, the Macau International Music Festival is held every October and lasts for almost an entire month. A variety of musical activities such as operas, orchestral performances, chamber music and contemporary music are featured during the festival, many of which are performed at world heritage sites. For an enriching experience of musical culture, be sure check it out!

Q: Where can I go to see live entertainment and enjoy a drink?

A: There are a few places with live music and shows.  Xanadu at Sands Casino and Bellini Lounge at Venetian Casino both have entertaining dance troupes and musical acts from the afternoon to the late evening.  Here you’ll catch a range of performances from leg-kicking can-can to Latin rock every day.  Grand Lisboa’s legendary Crazy Paris Show performs nightly, where feathered boas and sequined dresses flash across the stage as the European girls demonstrate their showmanship.  The StarWorld Casino also features shows on its main gaming floors.

Vasco at Mandarin Oriental is a stylish lounge and bar which features live jazz and other chilled out genres.  Quay Bar is an outdoor bar by Al’s Diner in Macau Fisherman’s Wharf.  The views of the Inner Harbor are a nice accompaniment to the tunes of the resident band.  As well, Blue Card – Macau’s famed expat band – performs on some weekends at Old Taipa Tavern.

You’ll also find live music at Moonwalker on Macau’s Lan Kwai Fong Bar Street.  Right next door is MP3 which features pole dancing all weeklong.

Q:
Are there any adult shows in Macau? Do you have any suggestions?

A: You’ll find adult shows at places like Jai-Alai Show Palace and Fashion Club. The most famous show is Rockza at the Grand Lisboa Casino, which features gorgeous Japanese dancers highlighting the female form in a beautiful and explicit way.  The theatre and audience tend to be a little more refined than other shows in Macau.  With the exception of the extremely conservative or those under 18, most visitors will enjoy the entertaining Rockza performance.

Q: Besides the live performances in pubs and casinos, are there any other performances worth seeing in Macau?

A: There are a lot of performances that come to Macau every year. Music lovers must not miss the annual International Music Festival, which features a wide range of music genres from contemporary vocals to orchestra to opera.  The festival is like going on a world music tour. The Macau Art Festival brings stage performances to Macau, and the film festival brings together a great selection of new international films.

Check our calendar of events regularly to keep on top of all of the performances coming to Macau.
